The Director of Project Management is responsible for overseeing multiple accounts; mentoring, training and managing other project managers; leading and developing new business; and participating in the operations of the project management department and the interactive discipline. The Director works in cooperation with Account Management to plan for, staff and scope projects and is accountable for the quality of the project delivery.
This person is required to have significant interactive/software development process expertise and will be responsible for the ongoing training of the project managers on his/her accounts. In addition to planning, staffing and scoping, Directors will often lead the more complex digital/online marketing programs and web development projects.
The Director will work with the Account Team and Discipline Leads (Creative, Information Architecture, Content Engineering) to set up project process and define scope, cost and time parameters. The Director will have significant client contact and will be responsible for ensuring that deliverables across multiple projects meet time specifications and quality goals. Excellent presentation skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee the project management of multiple accounts ensuring that the projects are set up for success and that all deliverables have been completed on schedule and within specification and budget parameters
- Work with Account Team to establish interactive process and yearly account planning and staffing
- Performs cross-functional task management
- Interfaces with the Account and Discipline Leads to resolve project-related issues; escalates larger project issues and risk as needed for resolution
- Authors or oversees the creation of project schedule, project briefs, Statements of Work, change control procedures and cost estimates with input from team members as needed
- Reports project status on a regular basis to management, project team and client
- Ensures deliverables are complete and of the highest quality possible
- Participate in the ongoing improvement and operations of the project management department and interactive discipline
- Manage and mentor Project Managers
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of Interactive Project Management Experience
- Significant knowledge of web development, email and rich media tech
