Description

Sister 2 Sister magazine seeks a detail-oriented, deadline-driven, organized assistant editor. Demonstrated editing skills are a must, as are snappy writing and solid reporting skills and a genuine interest in womens issues, particularly those relating to Black women who love hip-hop culture. Journalism or related degree preferred. Familiarity with the Associated Press Stylebook is required. Experience with video cameras, video-editing software and blogs are pluses.

Job duties include assigning stories to freelance writers and editing those stories to meet the standards and style of Sister 2 Sister. Duties also include pitching and writing articles, contracting new freelancers and supervising interns.
