DiversityInc, the nation’s leading business-diversity web site and magazine, seeks a Senior Digital Editor to work out of our Newark, NJ headquarters. The position involves coordinating freelance web and video contributions on career-advice content with a diversity spin, as well as personally writing web stories (at least 3,000 words a week) and conducting video interviews. Duties include story-idea generation; finding, soliciting, assigning and editing freelancers; writing for web and magazine, and video interviewing/editing. We are looking for a detail-oriented senior professional with significant web, video and print experience, a commitment to diversity and proven experience coordinating external contributors.
The right person will have at least 10 years experience with a heavy emphasis on web journalism.
You must:
- Have the ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented and be highly organized
- Have a bachelors degree
- Have a high degree of initiative, energy, and self-motivation and the capability to work independently
- Be team-oriented with a collaborative work style
