Responsibilities:
·Responsible for the company’s continued position as a leader in signaling technology in the rail and transit industry. Develops innovative concepts and solutions to meet customer expectations for new/modified products/systems requirements.
·Performs as technical project leader and directs project assigned staff in technical matters.
·Prepares and monitors project plans, schedules and budgets/estimates.
·Represents Company in industry associations and technical presentations. Presents technical papers and provides presentations to customers as needed.
·Develops solutions to complex problems requiring innovation and creativity. Provides technical leadership to individuals or teams in resolving problems as defined above.
·Leads technical discussions with customer and represents/protects the company interests.
·Works with project manager, manufacturing, other engineering groups and the safety engineering department of potential negative impacts to company position and performance thus far, including productivity improvements.
·Leads and provides input for cross-functional teams at project schedules.
·Reviews/prepares specification documents and provides input to technical proposals and cost estimates as requested.
·Keeps abreast of technologies used by the company and industry to remain current and prepared for technology changes within the work environment. Anticipates the impact of new technology by creating new devices and approaches to meet a changing market.
·Solid signaling technology background required.
·Well versed on integration of signaling and communications systems
·Desired experience on PTC and / or CBTC systems.
·RAMS programs and plans
·Systems Safety programs and plans
·EMI/EMC control plans and programs
·Performs other related activities as requested.
Organizational Reporting:
Reports to Work Package Manager and Operations Manager
Job Location:
- Based in Rochester, NY USA
- Willing to travel both domestically and internationally as needed
