Chicago Public Radio, (WBEZ 91.5 FM) is seeking to hire a full time Web Developer. Located at Chicago’s lake front, we reach an audience of nearly 500,000 throughout Chicago and the surrounding communities, we are home to nationally distributed radio programs such as This American Life, Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, and Sound Opinions. Our award winning reporters and radio producers help our listeners learn about issues and ideas that affect the community, the nation, and the world.
The Web Developer is responsible for maintenance and back end development of the station’s web properties (chicagopublicradio.org, thisamericanlife.org, vocalo.org). You will responsible for the content management system as well as developing solutions to provide a positive experience to both our internal users and website visitors.
Experience and skills that we are looking for:
• 5 years PHP and MySQL development experience.
• Thorough understanding of the current versions Drupal content management system.
• Basic understanding of .NET framework.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, and JQuery.
• Strong knowledge of web standards, cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Willingness to use open source tools.
• Familiarity with Illustrator, Flash, and Flex.
• News junkies are strongly encouraged to apply.
